Just when you thought DC couldn’t get any more Metal, they take it to the Nth degree! In another big pre-SDCC announcement, the Metal Men will be returning with a 12 issue maxi-series beginning this October. It will be written by co-publisher Dan Didio, with art from Shane Davis (Superman: Earth One) and Michelle Delecki. This will be spun out of the pages of Dark Knights: Metal, which has already had plenty of ripple effects throughout the DC Universe.
The story will head into the lab of Doctor Will Magnus, the man who created them. The twist is, now there is an Nth Metal Man added into the mix. In a statement, Didio said: “With this new series, we explore the essence of what makes the Metal Men human, by having them caught between Doc Magnus, the man who created them, and, the newly introduced, The Nth Metal Man, the being that gave them life. What I’m enjoying most about this book is the chance to stay true to all existing stories, while building out their mythology in exciting new directions.” Any time you add Nth Metal into the mix, crazy things can happen.
We haven’t seen much of the Metal Men recently, so it will be interesting to see how they fit into the mix. I’m also curious to see if the Nth Metal Man continues the last impact that Dark Knights: Metal has had. We get to see how it all begins on October 16th!
