Robert Kirkman’s ‘Invincible’ Trailer Revealed At NYCC

The wait is finally over for Invincible fans! After 15 years of stories on the page, the Robert Kirkman creation is finally headed to the screen. Amazon Prime Video revealed the first trailer for their animated adaptation of Invincible at NYCC on Thursday. Check it out:

Granted it is just a teaser trailer, but it gives a nice introduction to the series. The first season will consist of eight hour long episodes. It is set to debut sometime in 2021. Kirkman will produce the series through Skybound along with Simon Racioppa, David Alpert and Catherine Winder.

Here is the synopsis provided by Amazon: "From The Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman, and based on the Skybound/Image comic of the same name by Kirkman, Cory Walker, and Ryan Ottley, Invincible is an adult animated superhero show that revolves around seventeen-year-old Mark Grayson (Steven Yeun), who’s just like every other guy his age — except that his father is the most powerful superhero on the planet, Omni-Man (J.K. Simmons). But as Mark develops powers of his own, he discovers that his father’s legacy may not be as heroic as it seems."

The rest of the cast is pretty amazing, as well. They include Sandra Oh (Killing Eve), Seth Rogen (Knocked Up), Gillian Jacobs (Community), Andrew Rannells (Black Monday), Zazie Beetz (Deadpool 2), Mark Hamill (Star Wars franchise), Walton Goggins (Justified), Jason Mantzoukas (Brooklyn Nine-Nine), Mae Whitman (Good Girls), Chris Diamantopoulos (Silicon Valley), Melise (The Flash), Kevin Michael Richardson (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles), Grey Griffin (The Loud House), Max Burkholder (Imaginary Order) and others.

When the release date is revealed, we'll have it. Keep checking back for updates.
