Pierce Brosnan Cast As Doctor Fate In ‘Black Adam’

Anyone who has listened to the Down And Nerdy Podcast knows I am a bog Doctor Fate fan. So naturally, I was thrilled to hear that he would be appearing in the Black Adam movie. I never expected that he would be played by a former 007. THR broke the news that Pierce Brosnan would don the helmet for the upcoming film.

This now completes the JSA roster that includes Aldis Hodge as Hawkman, Noah Centineo as Atom Smasher, and Quintessa Swindell as Cyclone. Hawkman and Doctor Fate are set to be the leaders of the JSA in this particular story. Now will they be working with, or looking to stop, Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam? We’ll have to wait to find out.

According to the report, Brosnan will play Kent Nelson, a son of an archeologist who was taught sorcery skills and given the magical Helmet of Fate. I had assumed that was the Doctor Fate we would see in this New Line film, but now we know. This also gives me hope that, getting a legit name like Brosnan, hopefully this means much more Fate to come in the future.

More on this as it develops.
