“Pennyworth” Finds Their Villain, Casts Paloma Faith

You had to know that the villain from the Alfred-centric prequel series would not be a familiar member of the Batman rogues gallery. The 10 episode series coming to Epix has, however, found their antagonist. Paloma Faith has joined the cast as a series regular in the role of Bet Sykes, a spirited, sadistic and sharp-tongued villain. Faith is known for her roles in Peter & Wendy and Doctor Parnassus. PENNYWORTH is from Warner Horizon Scripted Television and based on the characters from DC.

As we reported previously, the 10-episode, one-hour drama series is based on DC characters created by Bob Kane with Bill Finger. It follows Bruce Wayne’s legendary butler, Alfred Pennyworth (Jack Bannon), a former British SAS soldier in his 20s, who forms a security company and goes to work with young billionaire Thomas Wayne (Ben Aldridge), who’s not yet Bruce’s father, in 1960s London.

Production on the series will begin Monday, October 22, 2018, at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden, in the UK.
