‘Pacific Rim: The Black’ Anime Trailer Released

If there was a film franchise that was made for anime, it’s Pacific Rim. The Guillermo del Toro and Legendary film heads to Netflix for a seven episode anime series on Netflix. The first trailer for the series has finally been released.

So, what is this latest battle about? Here’s the new synopsis: “There was a time when Kaiju rose from the Pacific Rim only to encounter gigantic robots, Jaegers, built to fight them back. That time has passed. Now, Australia has been overrun by Kaiju, forcing the evacuation of an entire continent. Left behind, teenage siblings Taylor and Hayley embark on a desperate search for their missing parents, teaching themselves to pilot a battered, long-abandoned Jaeger to help in their quest and give them even the slightest hope of surviving.”

Polygon Pictures is handling the animation, which they have also done for Godzilla and other Netflix animated series. Legendary Television is producing with series creators Craig Kyle (Thor: Ragnarok) and Greg Johnson (X-Men: Evolution). I feel like this could be the start many Pacific Rim anime, should this be successful.

We’ll all find out on March 4th when Pacific Rim: The Black premieres exclusively on Netflix. Make sure you add it to your list at www.netflix.com/pacificrim.
