Black Lightning isn't the only one who has been keeping the streets of Freeland safe. Now it looks like they might have one less ally to rely on. Damon Gupton, who plays Chief Henderson on the show, has revealed that he will not be returning for Season 4. Check out the tweet below:
And that’s a wrap. My final night on the set of @blacklightning. In December before X-mas I was told Chief Henderson is not in the plans for season 4 and that I would be let go. My❤️to a helluva hard working crew. Big 🙏to cast, writers, producers, staff, CW, WB #BlackLightning pic.twitter.com/i9L53QcVjg

Even thought it appears that he will not be leaving on his own terms, it's clear that he has a lot of respect for everyone involved with the show. I have to wonder now what the fate of Chief Henderson will be. Plenty of bodies have dropped on Black Lightning before, so it wouldn't be surprising to see the Chief meet an untimely end. We have also seen Chief Henderson take more an more risks this season, even taking some chances that he would not have taken in the past. Will being less and less by the book be the the end of him?
Black Lightning returns tonight for it's midseason premiere, Monday, January 20th at 9pm on The CW.
