Netflix Adding More Video Game Adaptations With ‘Diablo’, ‘Overwatch’

It looks like Netflix might want more of what they’re getting from their video game content. A new report from Forbes suggests that an Overwatch animated series, as well as a Diablo anime series, could be headed to the streamer. Before you get too excited, this is a very connect the dots type of situation.

This comes from something on the LinkedIn page of co-president of Activision Blizzard Studios, Nick van Dyk. If you look at the About section, and expand it, that is where you’ll find the info. Lucky for you, we took a screenshot:

As you can see, Netflix is only mentioned as a partner for one of these projects. That doesn’t mean that Blizzard wouldn’t continue to partner with them, as they have in the past. Obviously, no other details have been provided, and an updated bio is hardly a press release. Still, I doubt van Dyk puts this out there of it’s not a done deal.

I know fans have been waiting for a Diablo adaptation, and it seems like it has been in development for a while. As for Overwatch, being a hugely popular game and e-sports franchise, this seems like a logical move.

More on this as it develops.
