If you think about it, we have been waiting for a long time for a continuation of the Monsters Inc. story. After all, the second movie was a prequel, so we never really got to find out what happened after the company went from screams to laughs. The brand new series, Monsters At Work, will finally dive into that story. Not only will we see some fan favorite characters return, but we will see some new faces as well. Check out this sneak peak teaser:
Here is the official synopsis from Disney+: "Monsters At Work takes place the day after the Monsters, Incorporated power plant started harvesting the laughter of children to fuel the city of Monstropolis, thanks to Mike and Sulley's discovery that laughter generates ten times more energy than screams. It follows the story of Tylor Tuskmon, an eager young monster who graduated top of his class at Monsters University and always dreamed of becoming a Scarer until he lands a job at Monsters, Incorporated, and discovers that scaring is out and laughter is in. After Tylor is temporarily reassigned to the Monsters, Inc. Facilities Team(MIFT), he must work alongside a misfit bunch of mechanics while setting his sights on becoming a Jokester."
As you can see, Billy Crystal and John Goodman will be reprising their roles as Mike and Sully. They will be joined by Ben Feldman as Tylor, Mindy Kaling as Val, Henry Winkler as Fritz, Lucas Neff as Duncan, Alanna Ubach as Cutter, John Ratzenberger as Yeti/Bernard, Bob Peterson as Roze, Aisha Tyler as Millie Tuskmon, Stephen Stanton as Smitty and Needleman and Jennifer Tilly as Celia Mae. Bobs Gannaway will serve as executive producer. The series comes from Disney Television Animation, inspired by the work of Disney and Pixar's original movies.
Monsters At Work will premiere on July 2nd and will have 10 episodes in it's first season. A full trailer can't be too far off, so keep checking back for updates.
