‘Masters of the Universe’ Pulled From Sony Release Schedule; Replaced By ‘Uncharted’

Does Skeletor have a job at Sony Pictures? It’s possible given what has just happened to He-Man. Deadline is reporting that the live action Masters of the Universe movie has been taken off of the Sony release schedule. The movie, which has been pushed back before, now does not have a release date. Depending on how you look at it, this could be a good news/bad news situation.

The report goes on to say that the live action Uncharted movie will now occupy that March 5, 2021 release date. That’s odd, because they recently lost their director, and have yet to name a new one. Ruben Fleischer has been mentioned as a possibility, but nothing has been finalized. March 2020 isn’t that far away, so they might want to get to work soon if they want to make that date.

The reason for this change could be any number of things. Big names like Tom Holland and Mark Wahlberg certainly take prescience over Noah Centineo (no offense.) Plus the worry over Holland’s future availability probably led Sony to do what was necessary not to lose their leading man. This is all speculation, and we might never know the real story.

Fear not He-Man fans, we still have that Netflix animated series to look forward to AND that Kevin Smith animated project. Eternia will live on!
