For some people, August 28th is just an ordinary day. For Manifest fans, it’s Flight 828 Day. So leave it to Netflix to find the best way to celebrate. That was the day that they announced that Manifest had been saved for a Fourth and Final Season.
The deal was thought to be dead, ever since Warner Bros. Television seemingly called off the search for a new home for the series back in June. That’s when Manifesters hit social media even harder. Then Manifest constantly found itself in the Netflix Top 10 list for it’s previous seasons. So, like the passengers of Flight 828, the series gets a second chance.
Netflix announced that the final season will run a supersized 20 episodes, in parts to be determined. Just my opinion, this seems like a 10 and 10 type situation that we’re dealing with. Deadline reports that stars Melissa Roxburgh and Josh Dallas have signed deals to return. Similar deals with other regular cast members remain ongoing. Given how active the cast was in the #SaveManifest campaign, it shouldn’t be a problem.
“What started years ago as a flight of fancy deep in my imagination has evolved into the jet engine journey of a lifetime,” said series creator and showrunner Jeff Rake. “Never in my wildest dreams could I have envisioned the worldwide outpouring of love and support for this story, its characters, and the team who work so hard to bring it all to life. That we will be able to reward the fans with the ending they deserve moves me to no end. On behalf of the cast, the crew, the writers, directors, and producers, thank you to Netflix, to Warner Bros., and of course to the fans. You did this.”
Now we just have to wait for things to take off. Keep checking back for a release date, updated synopsis, casting announcements and more.
