Kite Man Getting His Own ‘Harley Quinn’ Animated Series Spinoff

Can I get a "hell yeah"?  While we were all waiting for the next season of the Harley Quinn animated series to drop, an unexpected DC surprise just flew right in.  Warner Bros. Animation is giving us a spinoff of one of our favorite adult animated series, with Kite Man front and center.

Noonan's is the working title of the series, and for good reason.  That may or may not end up being the final title for the 10 episode series, but the series logline tells you why it makes sense: "Lovable loser Kite Man and his new squeeze Golden Glider moonlight as criminals to support their foolish purchase of Noonan’s, Gotham’s seediest dive bar, where everybody knows your name, but not necessarily your secret identity!"

Matt Oberg, who voices Kite Man in Harley Quinn, returns in the title role.  Familiar Harley creatives are also attached with Justin Halpern, Patrick Schumacker, Sam Register, Dean Lorey, and Kaley Cuoco all on board as executive producers.  Lorey will actually serve as showrunner as well.  The series will be produced by Delicious Non-Sequitur and Yes, Norman Productions in association with Warner Bros. Animation.

"We love the wild and fun world of Harley Quinn so much we just had to make a spin-off and who better to center it around than the outcast Kite Man," said Suzanna Makkos, Executive Vice President, Original Comedy and Adult Animation, HBO Max and Adult Swim. "Justin, Patrick, and Dean have created the perfect local hangout for Gotham City’s not-so-finest at Noonan’s, where bar patrons can blow off steam after a long day of mayhem.”

You might have to wait a while for a seat at the bar.  We won't see Season 3 of Harley Quinn on HBO Max until this summer.  Conventional wisdom says that Noonan's would follow that, but probably not right away.  Hopefully we'll have some updated info by the time Comic-Con rolls around in July.  More on this as it develops.
