The live action Naomi series just took a big step toward reality. TVLine reports that Kaci Walfall (Army Wives) has been cast in the title role. This will be her first role as a series regular, and it’s a big one.
That wasn’t the only casting news. The report also revealed that Alexander Wraith (Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.), Cranston Johnson (Hap and Leonard) and newcomer Camila Moreno will also be series regulars. Wraith will play Dee, who might be able to reveal information about a recent supernatural event. Johnson will play Zumbado, a name that anyone who has read the Naomi comic should recognize. Finally, Moreno will play Lourdes, the owner of a vintage collectibles shop and secret admirer of Naomi.
The early logline for the series tells us: “When a supernatural event shakes her hometown to the core, leading to the discovery of Naomi’s powers within, she pursues her hidden destiny — and what she discovers will challenge everything we believe about our heroes.”
