Jared Leto Reprising Joker Role For ‘Zack Snyder’s Justice League’

Much like the Clown Prince of Crime himself, this is news that will either make you smile or drive you mad.  As news comes of Zack Snyder's Justice League beginning reshoots on the highly anticipated film, The Hollywood Reporter drops another bombshell.  Multiple sources say that Jared Leto would once again be playing The Joker, but this time, in the Justice League movie.

Before all of those questions come rushing out of your head, there's still a lot we don't know.  As of me writing this, none of this has been confirmed by Warner Bros., Leto or Zack Snyder himself.  Even if this did turn out to be true, we don't have any idea just how large or small the role would be.  It could be something as small as Ben Affleck's appearance in Suicide Squad.  There was a reason for his appearance, but it wasn't for very long and it was right at the beginning.  That still begs the question as to what the benefit would be of an appearance from The Joker in this new cut.  It will already be full of villains, I'm not sure we need another one.

It's not that The Joker isn't worthy of being in a Justice League movie.  It's just that, with everything that we already know about this movie, I'm not sure exactly where this particular Joker fits in.  So it's hard to know how to feel about this one.  All we can do is take a wait and see approach.

Zack Snyder's Justice League is set to premiere in 2021 on HBO Max.
