James Wan Is Here To Terrify Us Again With ‘Malignant’ (TRAILER)

Sure, we love James Wan for what he has done with Aquaman and his venture into the Fast & Furious franchise.  Let this serve as a reminder that he is still one of the masters of horror, as well.  We're talking about the architect of The Conjuring universe, the co-creator of Saw and many others.  Now he's back with another original horror thriller.  Here's the first trailer for Malignant.

I've heard of your own life flashing before your eyes, but never someone else's.  It's not very often that just a trailer sends shivers up my spine, but this one definitely did.  I think the creepy room transformation is what really pushed me over the edge.  To say that this looks uneasy and terrifying is an understatement.

We don't really need much of a synopsis, since the trailer kind of speaks for itself.  Here is the logline that was provided by Warner Bros. and New Line Cinema:  "Madison is paralyzed by shocking visions of grisly murders, and her torment worsens as she discovers that these waking dreams are in fact terrifying realities."

Some of the star of Malignant include Annabelle Wallis (“Annabelle,” “The Mummy”), Maddie Hasson (YouTube’s “Impulse,” TV’s “Mr. Mercedes”), George Young (TV’s “Containment”), Michole Briana White (TV’s “Black Mafia Family,” “Dead to Me”), Jacqueline McKenzie (“Palm Beach,” TV’s “Reckoning”), Jake Abel (TV’s “Supernatural,” the “Percy Jackson” films) and Ingrid Bisu (“The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It,” “The Nun”). Wan, Akela Cooper and Ingrid Bisu all worked on the story, with Cooper writing the screenplay and Wan directing. Michael Clear, Eric McLeod, Judson Scott, Bisu, Peter Luo, Cheng Yang, Mandy Yu and Lei Han join Wan as executive producers. Wan also brought along some other frequent contributors, like Joseph Bishara, who has composed the score for all seven films in The Conjuring Universe.

Where will these visions lead?  Find out when Malignant premieres in theaters and same day on HBO Max, September 10th.  It's worth noting that this film will only be available on the HBO Max ad free plan.  Keep checking back for more updates.
