I have to say, I really enjoy how director Matt Reeves confirms casting rumors on social media. This one might be the best one yet. You probably saw the reports, and heard me talk about it on the podcast, that Andy Serkis would reportedly be playing Alfred in The Batman. Well, it looks like that's a done deal. See for yourself:

The cast of the upcoming Batman movie is really starting to take shape now. We have Robert Pattinson as the Caped Crusader, Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner Gordon, Paul Dano as The Riddler, Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman and now Serkis. My guess is, with this latest casting, we will be seeing an Alfred who isn't afraid to get his hands dirty. As far as movies go, this might be the most action capable Alfred we have ever seen. To be fair, Jeremy Irons never really got a chance.
Now all we have to do is keep our eyes open for a confirmation of The Penguin casting. Will it be Colin Farrell or will another name enter the mix? Will we also get a Barbara Gordon/Batgirl announcement soon too? It looks like they might both be just a GIF away.
