That’s kind of a loaded question. Marvel is teasing a “bold new direction” for the character in an upcoming comic book series by Kelly Thompson, Elena Casagrande and Jordie Bellaire. They have released this “top secret” trailer to give us a look.
It seems like things are going to be very personal. Marvel also describes the story as ” a heartbreaking thrill ride into uncharted territory” for Romanoff.
“It’s a bold new vision for Black Widow and one I am really hoping people can get excited about,” Thompson told Marvel.com earlier this year. “Our first arc has some of the stuff you would expect in a Black Widow book, but I think twisted in a new way that’s interesting – and where she ends up at the end of this highly personal and life changing story is ALSO interesting!”
Right now all we have is the trailer and the great cover art of Adam Hughes. The story begins in the new Black Widow #1 in September. We hope to have an updated release date soon.
