I never thought I would ever see a book described as Pacific Rim meets Paper Girls, but here we are. Artist Jason Howard takes control of the writing duties as well for a new story coming to Image Comics. Let's find out more about Big Girls.
So, who's trying to destroy the world? The synopsis released by Image says: "When men become giant monsters hellbent on destroying the world, only girls can stop them—Big Girls. Meet Ember—she writes poetry, loves to read, and she’s a 300-foot-tall full-time monster killer! She and the other big girls are all that stand in the way of our world’s complete annihilation! "
Now we know what those big pencils we saw with the school supplies were for. What giant doesn't love to write poetry? Sure we've seen a giant woman in comics before, but this woman is on the side of the heroes this time. I have a feeling that this book will be packed with action as well.
Howard told The Hollywood Report that, "[this is] the perfect comic for both the dynamic sci-fi I like to draw and for my writer side to examine questions of power, inequality and the complexity of growing up."
