Who gave The Mandalorian his name? Ming-Na Wen did, of course. As first revealed by Vanity Fair, Wen will play an assassin named Fennec Shand in the upcoming Disney+ series. So who is this sharpshooter?
In the Vanity Fair interview Wen says, “She’s tricky, and yet she’s able to maneuver and survive, and be stealthy—so very graceful and agile. I just love that whole image with the name.” As far as where her loyalties lie, she says, “I think it remains to be seen.” Ming-Na Wen also went on to compare her character to Han Solo, saying that they have a similar loyalty to themselves. You saw how that evolved for Han, so you have to wonder if Fennec Shand will walk a similar path. We also know that this is a brand new character, which can only be a good thing in a world that could really use some expansion with this series.
The character was fully revealed in a video with the original story, later released by Disney and Lucasfilm. Watch it here:
