HBO Announces ‘Game of Thrones’ Iron Anniversary Celebration

Can you believe it's been 10 years since "winter is coming" and a certain Stark tumbled out of a window? Game of Thrones was an instant hit with fans, and quite frankly, is still talked about even almost two years from it's final episode. This month, HBO has some big plans to celebrate this Iron Anniversary.

If you want to start now, you can go to the Game of Thrones spotlight page on HBO Max. Not only can you watch episodes, it is loaded with behind the scenes content, compilations and more. I'm pretty sure I saw a video for "Best Fight Scenes", so I will definitely be watching that later. There will also be episode collections featuring things like "Mother of Dragons" for fans to follow their favorite stories and characters specifically.

If you want to do your binge watching the old fashioned way, HBO has you covered there too. A 73 episode MaraThrone will kick off on April 10th at 10am ET on HBO2 for subscribers. During the marathon, there will also be a charity drive to support causes like Women for Women International, World Central Kitchen, Conservation International, International Rescue Committee (IRC), UNICEF, FilmAid International, SameYou, Royal Mencap Society, National Urban League and The Trevor Project. The cast will be very active on social media too, so keep an eye on that.

There will also be some very special Thrones themed products hitting the shelves that you might be interested in:

  • A one-of-a-kind Imperial egg by Fabergé, the world’s most iconic artist jeweler, inspired by Daenerys Targaryen, and co-designed by series Emmy Award-winning costume designer Michele Clapton. The egg includes a miniature crown designed by Ms. Clapton, which represents the crown Daenerys would have worn had she taken the Iron Throne.
  • Mikkeller, the Danish craft beer company, have launched a range of beers inspired by the series, that will let fans all over the world celebrate one stein at a time. Fans can cheer with the first beer in the assortment called “Iron Anniversary IPA."
  • Pop culture products leader Funko have unveiled a new iron-textured limited-edition assortment of fan-favorite “Game of Thrones” Pop! vinyl collectibles and new figures based on Arya Stark, Khal Drogo, and many more. Available for pre-order now at retailers everywhere.
