She’s been an agent, a Captain and now Hayley Atwell will lend her voice to a very popular character. Netflix announced that the Mavel star will star as the voice of Lara Croft in an upcoming Tomb Raider anime series. This is the same series that was announced back in January.
Netflix teams with Legendary Television and dj2 Entertainment to produce the series. This will be based on the highly successful video game reboot trilogy from Crystal Dynamics and Square Enix. Additional cast members will be announced at a later date.
Here’s what we know so far: “Lara Croft, one of the video game world’s most iconic adventurers, makes her anime debut in an all new series. Picking up after the events of the highly successful Tomb Raider video-game reboot trilogy, the animated series will chart the globetrotting heroine’s latest, greatest adventure. Twenty-five years after her first game appeared, Lara continues to explore new territory.”
Hopefully we will have a first look at some of the animation soon. We also don’t have a release date yet, but I can’t imagine that we will see this until sometime in 2022 at the earliest. Keep checking back for any updates.
