Remember when we thought that we saw God on Lucifer? Well, this time it’s official! Entertainment Weekly broke the news that Dennis Haysbert (24, The Unit) will indeed appear as God on the show’s upcoming final season.
Co-Showrunner Joe Henderson seems pretty excited. He told EW, “We did like the big crazy list of [possible actors for the part], and he was my top choice. We were lucky. It was our first and only offer.”
Apparently reuniting with D.B. Woodside was a big reason that Haysbert signed on. He said, “Every time I see D.B., there’s always this fondness and this connection…We worked on a show that was arguably one of the best shows ever produced in television, so you’re going to have a kind of camaraderie.” He is referring to their time together in 24.
We don’t know how many episodes God will appear in, but I will let you know if there are any updates. Lucifer begins it’s final season later this year on Netflix.
