One of my favorite announcements of 2019 was the return of the DC Showcase animated shorts from Warner Bros. Home Entertainment. First it was Sgt. Rock, then it was Death. Now the Phantom Stranger gets the spotlight as part of the home release of Superman: Red Son.
You can see a first look at the title character above, but we also have a look at the “mysterious Seth”, as well.

The Phantom Stranger will be voiced by Peter Serafinowicz (The Tick) and the mysterious Seth by Michael Rosenbaum (Smallville). Bruce Timm (Batman: The Animated Series) serves as executive producer & director on the short written by Ernie Altbacker (Teen Titans: The Judas Contract). Here is the synopsis: “Set in the 1970s, the short follows young adult Jess as she joins her friends at a party in a dilapidated mansion hosted by the mysterious Seth. When odd things begin to happen to Jess and her friends, the Phantom Stranger intervenes to try and save her from a dreary fate.”
See The Phantom Stranger as one of the special features on Superman: Red Son, the next entry in the popular series of DC Universe Movies, from Warner Bros. Home Entertainment on Digital starting February 25, 2020, and on 4K Ultra HD Combo Pack and Blu-rayCombo Pack on March 17, 2020.
