Finn Wittrock is about to go from horrifying to hero. Wittrock is used to playing some scary characters, like in Ratched (seen above) and American Horror Story. Now he play the cocky and brash Guy Gardner in the upcoming HBO Max series. This is the first of many Lanters that are expected to be announced for the series.
The early synopsis for the show describes Green Lantern as: “reinvents the classic DC property through a story spanning decades and galaxies, beginning on Earth in 1941 with the very first Green Lantern, secretly gay FBI agent Alan Scott, and 1984, with cocky alpha male Guy Gardner and half-alien Bree Jarta. They’ll be joined by a multitude of other Lanterns — from comic book favorites to never-before-seen heroes.”
The series is produced by Berlanti Productions and Warner Bros. TV. Seth Grahame-Smith and Marc Guggenheim are credited as writers for the series along with Greg Berlanti. They will also be joined by Geoff Johns, Sarah Schechter and David Madden as executive producers, along with David Katzenberg and Elizabeth Hunter and Sara Saedi.
This series is expected to have a huge budget, and even introduce some new characters along the way. Filming is expected to begin sometime this year. That likely means that more casting announcements will be coming soon. Once we have any updates, we will pass them along.
