Netflix has started to focus a lot on animated series lately. Whether it be anime or CG, there are some exciting things coming. You might remember an announcement about a Fast & Furious animated series. Now we finally have more details.
The series will premiere December 26th with eight 30 minute episodes. The show will follow teenager Tony Toretto follows in the footsteps of his cousin Dom when he and his friends are recruited by a government agency to infiltrate an elite racing league serving as a front for a nefarious crime organization bent on world domination. Tim Hedrick (DreamWorks Voltron Legendary Defender) and Bret Haaland (All Hail King Julien) serve as executive producers and showrunners. The series is also executive produced by Vin Diesel, Neal Moritz and Chris Morgan, who have all served as producers on the live-action Fast & Furious film franchise.
As far as the cast goes, the main cast features Tyler Posey, Camille Ramsey, Luke Youngblood, Charlet Chung, Jorge Diaz and Manish Dayal. Guest voice actors include Similce Diesel, Renée Elise Goldsberry, Jimmy Tatro, Carlos Alazraqui, Eric Bauza, Grey Griffin, Kevin Michael Richardson, Fred Tatasciore and Tru Valentino.
The Netflix/DreamWorks Animation partnership has also produced Voltron: Legacy Defenders and She-Ra and the Princesses of Power.
