Marvel Studios is very good at keeping secrets. In the particular case, they were the worst kept secrets ever. At least it’s something that is going to make fans very happy. The success of the recent Marvel Studios series on Disney+ have spawned two spinoff series. One character we are very familiar with, the other we have not met yet.
Let’s start with the one that we knew all along. After becoming an instant fan favorite villain in WandaVision, Agatha Harkness is officially getting her own spinoff. Katherine Hahn will return as the title character in Agatha: House of Harkness. Also returning will be Jac Schaefer, who will serve as head writer and executive producer. Details are slim on the plot, but will likely serve as a prequel to tell more of Agatha’s story that was teased in WandaVision.
The next series will spin off of the upcoming Hawkeye series. That is where we will eventually meet Maya Lopez, played by Alaqua Cox. Echo has a lot of skills in the pages of Marvel Comics. Including being a top notch martial artist and acrobat, she is also deaf. It will be interesting to see if this version of the character will also be the adoptive daughter of Kingpin as well. No writer or producer has been attached, but could likely come from the Hawkeye staff.
