There is one thing that you have to admire about the New Mutants movie: it’s survival skills. This movie has had release dates movies, cuts made and seemed dead on arrival after the Disney/Fox deal. Well Disney appears to have taken out their giant novelty shears and found a cut that works for them.
According to a report from Fandomwire, any and all references to the most recent X-Men franchise from Fox have been removed from the film. Reports also suggest that New Mutants is going back to more of it’s horror movie roots, as well. The idea for these cuts is to leave the door open for the New Mutants to join the MCU, should the movie be successful.
Bottom line, it looks like this movie might actually come out this time. Apparently new test screenings have gone well, but that doesn’t necessarily mean success is guaranteed. I guess we will find out when New Mutants hits theaters (we hope) April 3, 2020.
