Things are about to get soooo metal at DC Comics again. Looking back, Dark Nights: Metal sent a lot of ripple effects through the DC Universe, and gave us a new character that we've been seeing a lot in The Batman Who Laughs. DC will look to capitalize on the momentum of that game changing story with Dark Nights: Death Metal. The coronavirus pandemic made us have to wait a bit longer, but a new release date has finally been announced.
Dark Nights: Death Metal #1 will arrive at local comic book shops and digital retailers on June 16, 2020. The creative team returns with writin from Scott Snyder with art by Greg Capullo, Jonathan Glapion and FCO Plascencia. There will even be a card stock foil cover by Greg Capullo, Jonathan Glapion and FCO Plascencia. Issue 1 kicks off with "It All Matters" and the first synopsis reveals that Dark Nights: Metal isn't the only story that will be referenced.
"Get ready for the earth-shattering encore! The legendary team behind Dark Nights: Metal and Batman: Last Knight on Earth take center stage and reunite for one last tour. When the Earth is enveloped by the Dark Multiverse, the Justice League is at the mercy of the Batman Who Laughs. Humanity struggles to survive in a hellish landscape twisted beyond recognition, while Batman, Wonder Woman, and Superman have all been separated and fight to survive. Unleash the beast and let the head banging begin!"
