The Year of the Villain continues to bring some very interesting and exciting things from DC Comics. This time it marks the return of the Demon’s Head and the man who co-created him. This August, Neal Adams will write and draw a “Batman vs Ra’s al Ghul” six issue miniseries.
According to a press release from DC, Adams shows a Gotham City under siege by terrorists, with Batman determined to find the source. But when Boston Brand, aka Deadman, tries to intervene, he discovers an even more disturbing and deadly truth: the terrorists are led by an inhuman monster! Ra’s al Ghul volunteers his own private security force to aid the GCPD, and now they are the saviors standing between nuclear terror and the townspeople! But al Ghul’s true goal is hidden from everyone’s eyes. He will destroy the city and kill Batman—this time for good. Watching in horror is…Bruce Wayne?
Taking it a step further, DC will release a facsimile of Batman #232, which originally introduced al Ghul. This issue will be available on August 21st. What would be even better is if they also put the issue at the original 15 cent cover price, but I won’t be greedy. This is a chance for fans to pick up a landmark issue like this without having to pay a fortune for the original. So, if you just want to read the story, this one’s for you.
This will apparently be the first of many facsimile editions to be released by DC over the coming months. How excited are you for this new Ra’s al Ghul series? What issues would you like to see get the facsimile treatment?
