The moment that some of us never thought would come is just over a month away. Zack Snyder’s Justice League comes to HBO Max on March 18th, and bit by bit, we’re getting a look at some of the differences. We get a better look at a couple of those characters in this new trailer.
There is a very key moment here that seems small, but also feels like a subtle jab. We see Steppenwolf bow to his Lord Darkseid, which he absolutely should. At the same time, we both know that Steppenwolf was the much maligned villain of the original Justice League movie. To me this bow isn’t a simple bow, it is the original bowing down to what Zack Snyder feels is the superior version. Only time will tell if he ends up being correct.
We also get to see a quick look at Jared Leto’s Joker, black suit Superman and more Cyborg in this trailer than it feels like in the whole first movie. We did get some repeat footage, but that is to be expected.
Snyder has said there will be less jokes in this new version, but that’s on brand for him. Do we really need more jokes at this point? For a movie that has scratched, clawed and willed it’s way into existence, that is no laughing matter. This four hour event is hopefully going to be worth the wait.
