Dark Horse Comics Drops Out Of ECCC 2020 Over Coronavirus Fears

No matter where you turn, news of the coronavirus is everywhere. As a nerd news outlet, I never thought that I would be talking about the spread of viruses, yet here we are. To date, the hardest hit state in the U.S. has been Washington. That left a lot of fans, vendors and guests wondering if Emerald City Comic-Con would still be happening. We do know one major publisher who will no longer be attending.

Dark Horse Comics took to social media today to announce that the were cancelling plans to attend the show. See the full statement here:

Whether you think the move is justified or not, this can’t be a decision that they came to rashly. The Oregon based publisher will surely lose money as a result of this move. There has also been growing concern from comic book creators as to whether or not the show should go on. Some have already announced that they too will be staying home.

Is it only a matter of time before ECCC gets cancelled? The clock is ticking. Keep checking back for updates.
