Jason Todd didn't have to die, and now, you have the power to make that happen. Warner Bros. Home Entertainment has announced that their next DC Showcase will be an interactive Blu-Ray experience. This will arrive as part of an anthology of the animated shorts from the past year this Fall.
DC Showcase's Batman: Death In The Family uses your remote to allow you to choose what happens in the story as you go. That will not only lead to many different outcomes, but also many different endings as well. That likely means you could see some very different story elements than the ones you remember from the classic comic book series.
IGN was first to release a first look at the trailer:
If you're getting Batman: Under The Red Hood vibes, there's probably a reason for that. The cast has returned to reprise their roles for this experience, as well. That means Bruce Greenwood as Batman, Vincent Martella as young Jason Todd and John DiMaggio as The Joker. You can also add Zehra Fazal to the list as Talia al Ghul and Gary Cole as Two-Face and James Gordon. Brandon Vietti not only wrote, but also produced and directed this first of it's kind story for Warner Bros. Home Entertainment.
DC also played with the fate of Jason Todd when they had fans call in to vote for his fate on DC Universe's Titans. This time, it looks like you can get a redo if you do decide to follow the story and end things for Jason. You'll get that chance when DC Showcase's Batman: Death In The Family arrives on Blu-Ray this fall.
