Chloe Bennet Exits ‘Powerpuff Girls’ Series

Suddenly, starting from scratch on the pilot for the live action Powerpuff Girls series seems like a pretty good idea.  Variety reports that Chloe Bennet will be leaving the show due to a scheduling conflict. She was set to play Blossom in the upcoming series, but the role will now be re-cast.

The series was just announced as in development about a year ago.  Since then, there has been some turmoil.  Before losing one of their stars, the series was force to scrap the pilot they had already shot in order for a full redo.  Now the same report suggests that additional casting won't even begin until this fall.  I can't tell if this is a good for the future of the show as a whole or not.  This doesn't feel like it's better, that's obvious.  Plus, Bennet was already aware of how things worked on a set like this from her time on Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.  Is she completely irreplaceable?  No, but this is not the time to lose of of your biggest starts.

My main concern here is, the is just another in a list of reasons to just not do this show at all.  Hopefully I'll have some better news when the next update comes in.
