After all of the setbacks and backlash, Sonic The Hedgehog is finally coming to theaters next month. While we have seen the trailer, we haven't really seen Jim Carrey in his full Robotnik glory. This might get us one step closer.
While it's not a full reveal, director Jeff Fowler did give us a look at what we can expect when he posted a birthday message to Carrey on Twitter. In case you missed it (we certainly did), here it is:
HAPPY BIRTHDAY to one of the most talented, kind, generous, thoughtful, intelligent, earnest, and oh yes FUNNIEST people ever to walk this earth. It is an amazing HONOR to know you and THANK YOU for everything you've done for this movie @JimCarrey #SonicMovie #GOAT pic.twitter.com/GOLTpkrD5f

Before you say what you are thinking, you had to know that the Dr. Robotnik look would not be 100% accurate to the game. What you can expect, however, is the kind of crazy, over the top performance that is common to Carrey in roles like this. Capturing the spirit of the character seems more important to me, but I think the look works just fine.
Sonic The Hedgehog will look to be your Valentine when the movie hits theaters on February 14, 2020.
