Back in May, we told you about a Billy The Kid series coming to EPIX. Now that the series has been filming for several months, we’re learning more about what we can expect from these first eight episodes. First, let’s take a look at the first teaser.
Playing the title role will be British actor Tom Blythe. We also know that Daniel Webber will be part of the cast as Jesse Evans. You’ll remember that Evans was also an outlaw, and leader of his own gang. No additional casting information has been made available beyond that.
A new synopsis for the series describes it as: “an epic romantic adventure based on the life of famous American outlaw Billy the Kid (Blyth), also known as William H. Bonney — from his humble Irish roots, to his early days as a cowboy and gunslinger in the American frontier, to his pivotal role in the Lincoln County War and beyond. Webber will play Jesse Evans, another famous outlaw and leader of the Seven Rivers Gang. When they meet, Jesse has already embraced a life of crime: robbing stores and cattle rustling. Billy is attracted to his wild and reckless character and becomes Billy’s doppelganger of sorts — his shadow self, forever inviting him over to the dark side of life.”
No release date has been given for Billy The Kid, but I would expect it fairly early in 2022. Keep checking back for more updates.
