You know what comes before Christmas In July now? Halloween In June, and we have Warner Bros. Home Entertainment to thank for it. The WB and DC Animation film Batman: The Long Halloween Part One will be released starting on June 22nd of this year. We found out who would be a part of the amazing voice cast not too long ago. Now let's take a look at the trailer.
This one of the more in-depth Batman tales ever told, in my opinion, so I'm not surprised that it will span two parts. As a little extra added incentive, the DC Showcase Animated Short for The Losers will be a part of the Blu-Ray release as well. Yes it will also be available on 4K UltraHD, but not until 2022.
Just in case you need the official synopsis, here it is: "Inspired by the iconic mid-1990s DC story from Jeph Loeb and Tim Sale, Batman: The Long Halloween, Part One begins as a brutal murder on Halloween prompts Gotham’s young vigilante, the Batman, to form a pact with the city’s only two uncorrupt lawmen (Police Captain James Gordon and District Attorney Harvey Dent) in order to take down The Roman, head of the notorious and powerful Falcone Crime Family. But when more deaths occur on Thanksgiving and Christmas, it becomes clear that, instead of ordinary gang violence, they’re also dealing with a serial killer – the identity of whom, with each conflicting clue, grows harder to discern. Few cases have ever tested the wits of the World’s Greatest Detective like the mystery behind the Holiday Killer."
