America Chavez Cast For ‘Doctor Strange’ Sequel

It looks like a trip into the multiverse will lead to a fan favorite Marvel character. Deadline reports that Xochitl Gomez will play America Chavez in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Much like another recent Marvel casting reported by the outlet, Marvel Studios had no comment or confirmation.

We do know that Elizabeth Olsen will bring Scarlet Witch to the sequel alongside Benedict Cumberbatch. Benedict Wong and Chiwetel Ejiofor are also on board. This will also somehow tie in to the WandaVision Disney+ series. Beyond that, not much is known other than filming is set to begin by early 2021. The possibilities really do seem endless, story wise.

As for Gomez, she was recently seen in the Netflix reboot of The Babysitter’s Club. America Chavez is loved my fans for her quick whit. She also possesses super strength and flight. More importantly, she can punch holes through dimensions. Sounds handy for a multiverse story, yes? She eventually overcomes the death of her parents and does her best to save her world from destruction. So the young actress will certainly have a lot to live up to in this role.

If/when this is confirmed by Marvel, we’ll let you know. Keep checking back for updates.
