Did you know that Amazon was about to premiere their first YA series? Not only that, it’s coming from Marvel’s Daredevil writer Sarah Streicher. Get ready to get some Lost vibes in this first trailer for The Wilds.
Now that you’ve gotten a look, here is how Amazon describes the series: “Part survival drama, part dystopic slumber party, The Wilds follows a group of teen girls from different backgrounds who must fight for survival after a plane crash strands them on a deserted island. The castaways both clash and bond as they learn more about each other, the secrets they keep, and the traumas they’ve all endured. There’s just one twist to this thrilling drama… these girls did not end up on this island by accident.”
The cast features a lot of and coming talent. You might recognize Rachel Griffiths from Six Feet Under. Other cast members include Sophia Ali, Shannon Berry, Jenna Clause, Reign Edwards, Mia Healey, Helena Howard, Erana James, Sarah Pidgeon, David Sullivan, and Troy Winbush. This is the kind of series where young talent tends to emerge, so keep an eye on these names.
Streicher created the series and will be joined by fellow executive producers Amy B. Harris (Sex and the City and The Carrie Diaries), Jamie Tarses (Happy Endings), and Dylan Clark (The Batman and Bird Box). Amazon Studios co-produces the series with ABC Signature. The Wilds premieres December 11th on Amazon Prime Video. Through Christmas Day, the premiere episode will be available to watch for free on Amazon’s YouTube channel and many social media handles.
